Happy Extubation Day!
Adela was extubated at about 2:30 this afternoon and so far is doing fine. She is on a HFT cannula. Basically the nose tubes with warm air and a little extra oomph behind them. They will work her down to traditional ones when she’s ready. They are working with her on getting her to clear the mung left in her throat, but she is showing her tough side! 🙂

Great step forward…I was so anxious all day until I got the call from your mom. I have let Aunt Jan and Aunt Laura know and we all are grateful that it went so well. Give her a little pat from her GG..
We are so happy that Adela is being successful with this new treatment! A definite step in the right direction. Also, the website is absolutely beautiful! I am so impressed.
I am very happy to hear this wonderful news! I will try to get over towards the end of the week to see how she is. Let me know if you need anything (i.e., food- cat care, etc…)
I am so glad to hear that Adela is continuing her steps towards recovery. It would be wonderful to be able to see her without a breathing tube. Everyone at work sends his/her payers and well wishes.
We have been reading the blog. Our prayers are with you all. It is great to hear that you have such a bright outlook on this long stay you are having in the hospital.
Adela is a tough little girl. I think she is like her grandma Netta. I know it runs in the family anyway.
She has wonderful caring parents. She knows that and I am sure that has given her strength. We are so thankful the last few days have been up hill for all of you.
We will keep praying. Thanks for the website and Steven thanks for the pictures.
