No Oxygen!
Adela was able to come off the oxygen yesterday afternoon and is doing just fine. Another step towards going home. Right now they are trying to figure out her feeding. That seems to be our only big hurdle left. They are having to replace a number of her electrolytes. She also seems to be a bit runny (poop wise). Her doctors here on the floor think it could be refeeding syndrome or her renal tubular acidosis coming back. They have taken her off her diuretic to get a better idea about her kidneys. The dietitian came to see us today and she doesn’t seem to think that it is refeeding syndrome – her thought was that the multi-vitamin they put her on might upset her system since she does have sensitivities. She is getting them to switch her over to a better one. Hopefully we will see her tolerating her feeds soon!
We are thrilled to hear that things are improving daily. She is such a trooper! I am constantly amazed by your strength (your whole family) and ability to be so cognitive with such little rest. Thank you again for giving us this opportunity to keep up with Adela’s progress. Please know that we wish there was more we could do and would love to be up there with you. We know God is with you and our thoughts and prayers are always with you too!

It was so encouraging to see Adela on Tuesday. She slept so peacefully for the three hours that I was there and it made me feel that she was gaining new strength with every even breath. She looks so beautiful, just like my sweet Adela once again and I went home content and very happy…Keep us your good care of our darling..
I just love reading this good news. At one point there were too many hurdles to even list and now we are hearing that there are only one or two before GOING HOME! Know that Adela remains in our prayers and that we know that there will be more good news daily.
Big hugs! Judy
So glad to hear that things are improving!!
I’m checking in after a week out of town and I’m so happy to hear Adela is continuing to improve. In my hopes for you all I see her at home with her family very soon! Best to all.

This all sounds wonderful! We are so glad and happy for all of you that Adela is improving daily. I can only imagine how tiring this has been for everyone. Soon and very soon you will all be resting at home together. Our prayers and thoughts are with Adela and both of you as well as her grandparents. Take care of each other. We love you.

I’ve been checking up on this site every day and am anxiously waiting for an update since she went off the oxygen support on Thursday. It’s so good to see all the improvements Adela’s been making, and I hope that no news is truly a good news in this case. My prayers and thoughts are with both grandparents, parents, and, especially, with Adela.
