Slow but steady improvement
We’re not out of the woods yet, but Adela’s blood chemistry numbers are slowly improving. For example, her platelets have nearly doubled from yesterday (from ~60 yesterday to 110 today) and her INR has dropped (from ~2.5 yesterday to 1.5 today). Both of those deal with her blood’s ability to clot, among other things. So, slow but steady progress in the right direction. She’ll be getting another blood transfusion and plasma this afternoon to help boost her numbers even quicker than her body would do on its own.
Adela seemed a little more peppy last night and this morning. Last night she was propped up in bed reading books with me (well past her normal bedtime, but we’ll reset our internal clocks once we get home). This morning, she’s been reading with Nana and watching a little Curious George on TV.
This is good news. Praying that it will continue.
This report is wonderful news. Adela is tougher than most adults. Does she have a favorite bookstore?
We’ve known for a long time that Adela is much tougher than she looks. It just takes a while for the doctors to figure that out, too. Adela loves to go to the Barnes and Noble bookstore near our house…she’s as much of a bookworm as her mother and father.
That is wonderful news.
I am so glad that y’all have this site to keep those of us that are spread out up to date about Adela. She is such an amazing and strong little girl. I will continue to pray for her improvement. 🙂
Hi Adela-This is Miss Kim. I hope you are feeling better every day. When you are back home and I come to visit you, I will bring the Milk and Cookies game with the “nuddu buddu” cookies and we can play. I hope to see you soon!
