Evening Edition
I was sitting here keeping Adela company and started tinkering with the look of the site. I think she would really like the design I found, hope you all do too. On an update note: They have begun her g-tube feeding again. She has been getting some for the past 7 hours and they just checked her residual (basically what’s in her stomach) and she seems to be digesting it well so far and passing it on into her intestine. Here’s hoping that this helps her system perk up. The air that had leaked out of her lungs is actually in her tissues around her lungs and in her head. Most of the doctors say she should be able to reabsorb it within days to a week and that is isn’t painful just uncomfortable feeling. Her urine production is looking really good with the restart of the diuretic and we are waiting to hear back from her evening lung x-ray that her lungs are still improving. They have been working on her ventilator settings throughout this evening and they have been able to reduce the pressure without her decreasing her volume. That is a great sign that her lungs are getting better and are supporting themselves some and that they won’t continue to leak. Fingers crossed that the feeding, breathing, and peeing keep going well throughout the night.
P.S. A BIG Birthday Shout-Out to Uncle Carlo from Adela!
Just stopped by to check up on you all. I love the new look and I agree that Adela will love it! I wanted to try to stop by sometime next week and bring you and Steven some homemade dinner…what would you guys be up for? Most anything’s better than hospital food but let me know what you’d like.
Glad to hear some signs of improvement. BTW, I love the new design … the design made me notice that you call your daughter “ladybug”. Althought the url is “raisingladybug.com”, I just click the link in Steven’s email during my first visit and really didn’t take notice. Anyway, we (Teresa and I) call our daughter “ladybug” as well … starting from the time she was about Adela’s age and even still today at 19 years of age (smile). I will continue to keep your family in my prayers.
As always you all are in our prayers. Thank you for keeping us updated (even though we try to keep up by phone others around the neighborhood to keep up as well). There are countless numbers of people that are praying for you all. We know you are all tired and weary but are being so strong by being there for Adela. Please let us know if there is anything that we can do for you all or for Netta or Becton. Our thougths are with you constantly even though we aren’t there at the hospital with you.
Love and prayers,
Cindy, Dennis, Lauren and Layne
Ali, the Web site looks great, and thank you for sharing your news with us like this. I’m so happy to see that Adela is improving. It sounds as if our prayers are being answered. I look forward to seeing you and Adela and Steven again soon perhaps over some barbecue (or at Rudino’s).
Dear Adela,
Yeah Adela! We love to hear about this progress you are making. You are on our minds everyday and we are rooting for you. We wish we were closer so that we could help look after your Mommy and Daddy. Instead, we are sending your parents and grandparents something to read to you while you are doing the Very Important Work of healing.
We love you and your Mommy and Daddy infinitely!
Uncle Carlo, Aunt Carrie Anne and Cousin Sabine
