They are preparing to extubate Adela later today (possibly 12 or 1) so they are weaning her down on her fentanyl and not giving her morning dose of anti-anxiety drug.\u00a0 They like them perky for extubation…they might get more than they bargained for!\u00a0 The PICU pharmacist also said the anti-fungal she is on could be causing the elevated GGT enzyme they have been watching over the weekend.\u00a0 They are looking into switching or discontinuing.\u00a0 She is continuing to have a fever and they are going to run another blood culture just to rule infection out.\u00a0 She is on three broad antibiotics so they are not sure.\u00a0 She will be off her feeding tube until tomorrow morning to make sure her lungs are doing ok and she doesn’t aspirate or something.\u00a0 It sounds like that we will stay for awhile yet in the PICU since Adela likes to throw them curveballs – or maybe it’s because she’s so cute.\u00a0 I’ll post again later with more about the extubation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
