New Shoes
Adela’s new shoes were delivered on Monday. She had been wearing some of the classic PediPeds with the soft bottoms, however it was time for her to move to more of a traditional sneaker with a firm rubber bottom. So, we ordered a pair of the PediPed Flex shoes. They’re really cute. It took her a little while to get used to them — she didn’t want to wear them for the first few days, but now she really likes them. We have to be careful that she doesn’t trip since they’re a little different than her old kind of shoes.
Part of our motivation was because her physical therapist said that Adela isn’t bending her knees as much as she should. When she walks, she actually locks her knees when she straightens her legs. It’s not a major problem right now, but if she doesn’t stop soon, it could start to damage her knees. Hopefully, the new shoes will help with some of that.
She’s enjoying them when we go for our walks on the trail behind our house.
