One step closer…
Today was the last day on TPN and all of her medications have been switched from “Brody” (the broviac) to “Button” (the g-tube). Still looking to head home on Friday. We want to make sure all her chemistry numbers (like electrolytes) are stable since she’s off the TPN. We still need to work out the details of the multitude of follow-up appointments, a home health nurse coming in to help with broviac care, and a few other loose ends. Adela is looking forward to having one last day of the preschool teacher visiting her in the room and also going up to the playroom, but also sad that she won’t get to do either of these again (hopefully for a long time with the exception of coming back in a few weeks for another scope).
We’ve already started clearing out the hospital room. After six weeks of gradually bringing one or two things from home every so often, we found ourselves with quite a bit to carry back home. All the Halloween decorations, most of the books and games, food for Mommy and Daddy, and most of the clothes have made their way home. Hopefully just one or two more trips to the car is all it will take…
Yay! Look forward to seeing you at wood valley court!
We’ve been following the blog quite regularly to keep track of Adela’s progress. We are so glad she is doing so well and will be going home. It’s been a long road for all of you but hopefully after all of this, the Dr’s are closer to understanding Adela’s make up. She is a very special child and very lucky to have such wonderful parents. We love all of you and wish you the very best. A.Dottie and U.Ron
So happy that she gets to go home!
We are so happy for you! It has been a long haul, but pleased that you had good physicians and nurses to help her recover. We have missed Netta mighty bad too. Please continue to keep us posted on Adela’s progress over the next few weeks. We love you!
