Tough Ladybug

Today’s post has been brought to you by Tough Ladybug – our mascot!
Adela is having a pretty good day. Weekends tend to be uneventful in the PICU. They don’t like to rock the boat too much (because of less staff). She has had her narcotics reduced and is being given another weaker medicine. Her morning lung x-ray looked better. They can hear bowel sounds again which means her liver is going down and she is reabsorbing some air. Her best news today was this morning they had weaned her ventilator settings down enough they were able to switch her to SIMV mode. This basically means she is more in control of the breathing and the type of breaths. A big step towards getting off the machine completely. GO Ladybug!

Hello to all of you,
Some think that ladybugs bring luck. As for me I really don’t believe in luck. I believe in blessings…. and Miss Ladybug-Adela is such a blessing to all of us.
It is so good to hear of the positive improvements she is making. I can’t imagine how tired all of you must be. If there is anything- small or not- that we can do LET US KNOW!
We love you and have you in our thoughts and prayers. May God continue to give you His strength, peace and grace through the love of Jesus.
Love and blessings from Mt. Olive, The Best Family
